Where to Dock your boat on “Y” Highway?

31 10 2009

Ever driven Y Highway, Missouri from top to bottom? It is an interactive drive… to say the least. Consisting of about 17 miles and 300 plus sharp curves (I gave up counting at 228) it makes for an interesting trip pulling a boat. Life on Y Highway is not always simple for a typical homeowner who happens to have a boat, as many do. The draw to living on Table Rock Lake often includes boating recreation. There are few choices for boat dock ownership and few  – none that I am aware of rental slips.

Until Hideaway Marina came along. A perfect affordable opportunity for a homeowner in the area to dock a boat for the summer or year.  This would reduce traffic on Y and certainly alleviate the boat traffic up and down this stretch of beautiful Missouri roadwork. Tourists are HIGHLY unlikely to use this option for a dock. There are many more useful and far easier and closer docks without the long drive. In fact few folks other than locals are even aware of Y Highway and Hideaway Marina.

The convenient store at the Marina is an asset to the area and makes life that much easier for those in the area who are 20 long miles from a gallon of milk or a roll of TP.,,

The long time local owners of Hideaway Marina are dedicated to preserving the integrity and beauty of Table Rock Lake and the Y Highway area for themselves, their neighbors and friends, and future generations who also deserve to experience this unparalleled part of the Ozarks we all know and love. If you have never been to this top notch, clean and friendly Marina make it a point to do so.

Hideaway Marina zoning issues with Stone county may prevent any possibility of boat dock rentals to property owners.

Shoreline Cleanup for Table Rock Lake 4-4-9

28 03 2009

Each Year hundreds of volunteers from around Table Rock Lake and visitors to the region converge on the shoreline for the annual trash pick-up on the weekend of the first Saturday in April. This year the Table Rock Lake Marina Association is proud to be the major funding sponsor of the cleanup! On the last Saturday in September and smaller clean-up event is also held where only trash-bag sized debris is picked up. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on Table Rock Lake supplies trash bags, dumpsters, tire and appliance removal and personnel. Volunteers organize teams including girl and boy scouts, Missouri and Arkansas stream teams, homeowner’s associations, civic organizations, College of the Ozarks students, retired individuals, business employees, marinas, resorts, families, and other environmentally concerned citizens. Each volunteer receives a shoreline cleanup t-shirt and a camping voucher for Table Rock Lake U.S. Army Corps campgrounds. The only way a project of this magnitude can be done is with the help of the dedicated sponsors and volunteers! Anyone interested in participating in the cleanup please call Gopala at 417-739-4100. You can print out the Sign-up Sheet and Trash Tracking Form to turn in to the Table Rock Lake Water Quality office for your T-shirts upon completion of the shoreline cleanup or you may sign-up you and your team online.

Ahoys Hosting Bass Tournament for Amateurs only!

28 03 2009

The 2009 Big Bass Bash Tournament for amateurs only will kick off at Table Rock Lake on May 16-17, 2009 with a $79,000 payout. Three weigh-in locations will be Ahoy’s Boat Ramp (main location at the Kimberling Inn in Kimberling City, MO), Campbell Point Marina and Cape Fair Marina.

Sponsored by Midwest Fish Tournaments, a family owned and operated company, the opening Big Bass Bash allows the weekend angler a chance to win like the professionals. Its format allows just one fisherman with one big bass to win one of three overall awards or by having one of the 12 largest bass caught during semi-hourly weigh-ins.

Several ways to win cash have been announced. Anyone who enters the tournament before midnight on May 1 will be entered in a drawing for one of ten $300 cash prizes. Anyone having in his or her possession an official t-shirt at weigh-in who comes in 13th place will win $125. And the first person to weigh-in a bass with an exact weight of three or four pounds will each day win $500.

Over 600 anglers are expected to enter the tournament.

Tournament entry fees are $110 for one day or $160 for two. New this year is a kid’s division for children 12 and younger. Entry fee is $15 per day for each child.

Official Entry Forms here.
